The goal of this piece was to break the molds of what is thought of as graphic design. Is this piece a poster, painting, sculpture? Even I don’t know. Using mixed media, what was created is a piece with texture, dimension, typography, and design. The design was first mapped out in Adobe Illustrator, the text transfered to the physical canvas and then the ceramic piece glued to the canvas as well. Inspired by the idea that in our world there is graphic design everywhere and that when designing the audience should be thought of and understood first before aesthetics.

A little slip from a fortune cookie I had when making the piece fit perfectly with the message I wanted to spread with this piece, so I pasted it on the back as a little hidden surprise.
